Summertime here, means also Midnight Sun which is the period where the sun does not go down. Because of that, from middle of April to end of August, there is too much light to see one Aurora in the sky.

Depending the chase, you can be back at your holiday place at midnight or later if it is necessary. Like it can be a bit cold outside, we plan for you some winter suits and a fireball. And then, as a local norwegian, you are able to stay some hours outside waiting for the magical phenomenon.

With him, you reveal your child part that lies dormant in you! Emotions of a chase are just a training before your big meeting with the Green Lady.

Why choosing Northern Norway more than an another country?

So, with some apps, you can follow the Northern Lights’ forecast: their movements, their strength (KP), their polarity (Bz). All that indexes are important to chase good. But as we said before, the weather forecast is also important. It is Nature, there is no button to push to switch them on…

Finally, you know now that you need t:

  • Choose a good guide in a good company (like us!),

Indeed, our local place, Ersfjordbotn is known as one of the most beautiful fjord around Tromsø. Tromsø city is an island welcome tourists in hotel. Our place is the most cosy village for doing outside activity without the massive number of people starting their day from a same pick up point.

Besides, most of them are located in our island Kvaløya, next to Tromsø, at only 25 min by the road. But the best is to start from there, and save time, isn’t it?

A family friendly place to experience thousands of outside activities

Activities you can find here are most of the time outside’s ones: top tour ski, husky and reindeer sledding, fishing tour by boat with or without a guide, fjord visit by boat or by bus. Definitely it is a family friendly place where to enjoy together!

Don’t trust people who had heard that it is really cold and really dark!

One the one hand, concerning the darkness, even if it is the Polar night, you still have light. No sun rays but still lights. All our activities follow daylight to schedule them the best.

One the other hand, concerning the coldness: it is not here either! Thanks to the Gulf Stream which is protecting us since it follows the Atlantic current. So Lapland, Finland, Sweden and Norway’s inner lands are thoroughly colder! Our basic temperatures during winter are between -10 to -3°C by day and night… You can handle it easily for sure! Have a look on our specific post to prepare rightly your luggage.

To finish, we advise you also our second websites dedicated to Arctic activities and booking. You will find the Northern Lights Chase and all the others to do by day here in the same time. With that from now, you can plan all your holiday’s schedule!
