Northern Lights

Stay by the fjord during the northern lights season

Stay beside the fjord near Tromsø for dark skies, mountain views and easy access to Arctic winter experiences. Aurora season runs from late September to early April.

A dark fjordside base for the aurora

Ersfjordbotn sits directly on the fjord, away from the street lights of Tromsø city centre. On a clear night, the dark sky over the water and mountains provides a natural backdrop for watching the northern lights — sometimes visible directly from the apartment balcony or dockside terrace.

The aurora is a natural phenomenon and sightings depend on solar activity, cloud cover and weather. We cannot guarantee the northern lights will appear during your stay, but the location and the long polar night give good opportunities between late September and early April.
